About me: fail and grow

Hi everyone, my name is Kendall Garrett and i’d like to welcome you to failing through life.

I grew up in Dallas, Texas surrounded by family, sports, and the societal expectations around what it means to be a woman in those arenas. I ultimately found a passion for lacrosse that led me to playing at the NCAA D1 level at Mercer University. During my time as a student-athlete I earned degrees in economics and finance while honing my ability to be a team oriented work horse.

The intangible skills gained during my time as a student-athlete have benefited me as a now twenty-something navigating a career in consulting. I’ve realized upon reflection, however, is that these skills did not come easily and I was not always kind to myself along the way.

I’ve always enjoyed writing, but being in the economics and finance world this often meant that my writing was focused on research and data. So now in an effort to document the lessons i’ve learned and the many more I expect to come my way, this blog was born.
